Picardy Turn

The root stays on A while minor opens into its own major. Energy steps up one notch and the room hears dawn where it expected night.

Land it on the drop, not the breakdown, so the color change arrives with the kick.

Made for the long night

Made for the work before the gig.

Most of the work on a set happens at home: digging, ordering, test blends late at night. Doors of Harmony is built for that part.

How it works

A Thursday night, preparing Saturday.

You play a two hour warehouse slot on Saturday. This is what preparing it looks like.

  1. 21:00

    Bring in the playlist

You import your Saturday folder from Rekordbox, 240 tracks. While you make tea, Doors of Harmony reads every one for key, mode, energy, groove and where its phrases start.

  2. 21:20

    Say what the night needs

You type what you want. Complete ordered sets come back, each one drawn as an energy arc.

"two hours, warehouse, start dark, peak late, land soft"

  3. 21:25

    Refuse what feels wrong

Track six hits too hard. You tap too hard. Everything after track five rebuilds, and the session lowers its ceiling so the next picks come in softer.

    session adjusted: softer

  4. 21:40

    Keep your favorites together

Three tracks you have wanted to play back to back for weeks become a cluster. They move through the set as one block and keep their order.

  5. 22:10

    Open a seam

Night Engine into First Light: a Picardy Turn, minor opening into its own major. Start First Light at bar 49, swap the bass on bar 65.

  6. 22:30

    Ask why

You ask why track seven sits where it does. The advisor answers from the scores: strong harmony, one step up in energy, weaker on groove. It offers two tracks that fix the groove.

    "why is track 7 here?"

  7. Sat 01:30

    Play it your way

The set lives in your head and in your DJ software. You still read the room, ride the EQ and change your mind whenever you like. You also know what each choice will do.

Features

Your playlist, read like a musician would.

Doors of Harmony measures key, mode, energy, groove and structure for each track. A reasoning layer built on Claude turns those numbers into plain advice about your next move.

Chapters and clusters

Build sets that tell a story.

Shape the night in chapters: open, rise, peak, breathe, land. Group two to four tracks into a cluster and they travel together. When a chapter feels off, swap all of it and pick from three alternatives.

Harmony map

See your playlist on the harmonic wheel.

Every track sits on the wheel by key and mode, and your set draws a path through it. You see where the night stays home, where it travels, and the routes through your music you have never tried.

A teacher in the room

Every term explains itself, in the voice you think in.

Tap a word like syncopation and it opens into three lines and a picture. Pick theory, feel or plain language. You pick up the theory as you go.

More

Small tools you will use every night.

Each one removes a step you do by ear today.

Mix windows for every pair

A short, medium and long option, with the bar to start on and what overlaps while you blend.

Learns your style

Save named styles. They learn from what you keep, lock and refuse, never from tracks you scrolled past.

Search like you talk

Type "the rolling dark one that breathes" and get the matching tracks from your own playlist.

Refuse in one tap

Too hard, too soft, wrong key feel, overplayed. Pick a reason and the set rebuilds around it.

Built on Claude

The reasoning layer reads the analysis of your own tracks, so every answer is about your music.

Export to your setup Coming

Finished sets go back to Rekordbox and your DJ software as ready-to-play playlists.

Coming next

What we are building next.

Set preparation launches first. On the same engine we are building a timeline to test the whole set, and a second screen for when you play it.

Who it is for

For DJs who already have taste.

You bring the taste. Doors of Harmony takes the hours of checking and re-ordering. We started with techno and house, where long blends let the crowd hear the harmony.

Built for

  • DJs who prepare before they play and want to know why a set holds together
  • Selectors with a playlist they know well and want to see in a new way
  • Anyone who wants to get better at harmony without going back to school

Not built for

  • Autoplay. It never mixes for you.
  • Replacing your instinct in the booth.
  • Tagging for its own sake.

FAQ

Questions

Does it mix for me?

No. Doors of Harmony helps you choose and order tracks and tells you what each transition will do. The EQ, the faders and the timing stay in your hands.

Which DJ software does it work with?

Doors of Harmony imports your library from Rekordbox or Traktor. Export of finished sets back into your DJ software is in development.

What does "built on Claude" mean?

The explanations come from a reasoning layer built on Claude, Anthropic's model. It works from the analysis of your own tracks, so it talks about your music, not music in general.

When can I use it?

Doors of Harmony is in private development. Early access opens first to a small group of techno and house DJs. Founding members will get a founding rate.
